Photos from the Pontifical High Mass for the Immaculate Conception, marking Bishop Malcolm McMahon's 10th anniversary as diocesan bishop of Nottingham

 

The Mass was celebrated in the Dominican priory church of the Holy Cross in Leicester on 8 December 2010. A congregation of over 200 were present and the parish choir sang the chant propers from the Dominican Gradual, and the Ordinary was Byrd's Mass for Three Voices.

The bishop was assisted by fr. Leon Pereira OP, Prior and parish priest of Holy Cross, and fr. Thomas Crean OP and fr. Gregory Pearson OP were deacon and sub-deacon respectively. fr Mark Davoren OP was sub-deacon of the cross. Present in choir were the Dominican community of the Holy Cross, as well as Dominican fathers from St Dominic's in London, and monks from Farnborough Abbey, who kindly loaned the vestments and pontificalia used on this occasion. Also present were priests from the dioceses of Nottingham, and Clifton.
